This delicious chicken and dumplings recipe is prepared in a slow cooker with a selection of herbs and vegetables. Make sure you have the list of ingredients below,
Ingredients:
1. 5.5 ounces of fresh milk.
2. 8 ounces of water.
3. Two cups of baby carrots.
4. A teaspoon of dried English thyme.
5. Two cups of Bisquick original all purpose baking mix.
6. A quarter teaspoon of Spice Garden's fine black pepper.
7. Two medium sized stalks of self blanching (or) green celery.
8. Two yellow finn potatoes (or) Yukon gold potatoes.
9. Two tins of Health Valley organic cream of chicken soup (use only 22 ounces).
10. 680 grams of chicken breasts (skin removed and boneless). Chop the chicken breasts into small pieces.
Preparation:
1. Switch on the slow cooker and add in the Yukon potatoes, chopped chicken breasts, baby carrots and self blanching celery into it. Take a bowl and mix the cream of chicken soup, English thyme, water and ground pepper together. Pour this mixture into the slow cooker.
2. Place a lid on the slow cooker and let the chicken and dumplings mix cook on high for about four and a half hours or on low for about seven and a half hours. Check and see it the chicken is cooked well. Now take another bowl and stir the Bisquick all purpose mix and fresh milk together. Pour this mixture evenly over the chicken and dumplings in the cooker and cook on high for about half an hour or till the dumplings are done. Serve warm.
